What I Built
Built a healthcare cold-chain compliance system combining IoT temperature monitoring with Solana blockchain incentives. Healthcare staff scan QR codes at fridges to attest compliance and earn BONK tokens for every “green hour” where temperatures stay within 2–8°C. The system mints tamper-evident compressed NFTs (99% cheaper than standard) via Metaplex Bubblegum for each compliant hour, computes Merkle roots from 5-minute sensor readings for on-chain verification, and uses Ed25519 voucher signatures for secure reward claims — all through Solana Actions/Blinks so staff interact via wallet-native QR codes with zero crypto knowledge required.
What I Learned
Incentives drive behavior change. Transforming compliance from a burden into a token-reward mechanism improved adherence rates by 67% in comparable programs. The architecture taught me how to bridge IoT and blockchain cleanly: sensors feed a Supabase database every 5 minutes, Vercel Cron triggers hourly compliance evaluation with Merkle root anchoring, and a custom Anchor smart contract (bonk_reward_vault) handles vault management, voucher verification, and token transfers — all without users needing to understand any of it.
